Meetings - Annual General

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for this communication taking longer than anticipated. Here are our choices for venue play this year. Notes from our meeting on August 27th follow.

1) COUGARS - Spoke with Lori and advised her of our concerns that we discussed in our meeting, including but not limited to playoff
concerns and the table conditions.

- The tables will either be replaced or fixed. Table fees are a possibility if the tables are replaced. This is still to be
determined.
- Lori is willing to stay on Tuesday nights to address the concerns of drink quality/service.

- Year end Banquet will be provided at no cost as per previous years.

- playoffs can be Friday/Saturday as per previous years.







2) LEGION - Spoke with the Legion and they would be very happy to have us.

- Was advised we would have the tables available from 5pm onward. They would provide a bartender and have the kitchen
open. I am not aware of the menu.

- They only have 3 tables. The tables have been improved with new pockets, rails etc. I have not been to the Legion to play of
these tables.

- I did not speak to them about a banquet.




3) BLACK DIAMOND BAR - Spoke with the Manager and they too would be happy to have us.


- They will open the tables for us and there will be a server and kitchen availability.

- No banquet and they don't cater. They did mention they could give us a deal on appetizer platters for example.

- Playoffs - can't do the Friday night match as they have free pool on Fridays. We could do Saturday all 3 matches for
example.
- A few of us did have an opportunity to play on 2 of the 4 tables (of which two are 3.5/7 feet , the other two are slightly
bigger at 4/8 feet. The table are in good shape.


Pool League Notes August 2018

• Book keeping remains the same, with Carol Anne and Sean on the account, with the possible addition of Sierra. Weekly bank statements will be issued.
• General Agreement regular play will commence Sept 18 and the season will consist of 21 weeks
• Unanimously decided that playoffs should run only over the course of a single weekend, and will be confirmed in writing. Suggestion made that the banquet be held the same weekend after the final playoff games. Will need to discuss with venue
• Fees are expected to be the same as last year
• Handicaps will be implemented the same as last year, after 12 games played.
• Maximum 2 players with handicaps up to and including 8.5.
• 50/50s are in
• So far we appear to have a solid 8 teams. Please let the captains know if you are concerned about lack of players and we will work on setting you up.
The following notes involve a possible new venue.
• General consensus is we keep the league in one venue in rather than split between several venues in order to maintain the group experience
• When a decision arises concern a move to a new venue the captains will vote as team representatives to avoid confusion. Please talk with your teams and know how your team would stand in the event of a venue move.
• If a new venue does not want to throw a banquet for us like Cougars does the general consensus is that $15 a head is reasonable.
• Efforts are being made to talk to perspective new venues (Angela, Sierra, Bruce, Carolanne)
